My Bill Cosby caricature from long ago

Another caricature from my pen and ink period.
Bill Cosby was a hugely popular TV star at the time. He was very much loved for his role as a very friendly, warm family man and TV doctor... But in the meantime ... we know better...
Today I digitally colored the drawing (with grayscale) to experience the difference with the past ...

This was my original ink drawing from back then.

The darker shades were then applied with gray scale adhesive film.
The film was glued on and the contour lines were cut with a utility knife.
(If you enlarge the drawing, you can clearly see the cutting line from then on the black contours)

Slightly reworked today to better match the square thumbnail of my ArtStation project here.

To experience the difference between the past and the present, I have now recolored the drawing with paint.net.
That went very quickly, clean and pleasant and in the same amount of time I COMPLETELY colored the drawing this time!!!

In retrospect, I thought the contrast between his lips and his skin was too much. I quickly edited it again in paint.net...
Some things are now much easier and faster to achieve than then, wow!
(But... there's lot more to learn now. Sure!)
